Cosmetic facial acupuncture is amazing because it’s a natural therapy that’s stimulating your body to work and look better. It holistically addresses the causes of aging skin and skin problems, and treats them at the root. This is a totally different approach to procedures like plastic surgery, which is invasive, expensive and does nothing to help improve the body’s physiology.
How does Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture work?
Through the use of extremely fine, sterile, facial acupuncture needles at specific locations on the face and body, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture naturally stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, the proteins that tone and lift the skin and smooth out wrinkles.
Facial acupuncture improves circulation, nutrient delivery and toxin removal to restore the skin’s healthy glow. Sagging skin is gently repositioned while tight muscles of the face and neck are retrained to create a lifted, yet relaxed result that diminishes jowls, double chins and crow’s feet.
Treating any tight or spastic muscles of the face and throat will remove their tendency to pull on the skin and create wrinkles over time.
While Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture improves the vitality of the skin of the face and neck, it can also address deeper issues and imbalances that contribute to the aging process.
What can I expect at my cosmetic facial acupuncture session?
At the first session, there is a full health intake. We’ll discuss you overall health history, including physical and emotional issues, to get the entire picture of your present state of health.
We’ll talk about how this relates to your skin and how the treatments can help not only your skin, but also your overall health and wellbeing. It’s also a great time for me to ask you about what your goals are regarding your skin and your health in general.
In the facial acupuncture session, acupuncture needles may be placed in the face, ears, neck, hands, feet, arms or legs. From session to session, the treatment will mostly be the same, but might vary a little.
Once the needles are place, you’ll rest for 20-30 minutes. After the needles have all been removed, the session ends with 10-15 minutes of facial gua sha, cupping or massage.
How many Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture Treatments are recommended?
You should sign up for 12 sessions on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule to start. At the end of the 12-week series, you should come in for maintenance session every 4-6 weeks.
You’ll see the best benefits from the cosmetic facial acupuncture when you are taking good care of yourself with diet and lifestyle choices. And by taking good care of yourself, I am a believer of the 80/20 rule. Yes, life will be better lived by being pretty diligent most of the time. But, you know what? This is life, it’s short and we don’t want to get too caught up being too rigid and forget to just enjoy life.
How soon will I see results?
You can often see subtle changes right away. You’ll notice more profound results after a number of sessions as the healing a restorative effects really start to settle in. Most people say they really start to notice a significant difference around the 7th session.
Practicing good health habits like drinking plenty of fresh water, getting enough sleep, managing stress, and consuming a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits and high-quality proteins, will help you maintain lasting results.
After the initial series of 12 sessions, coming in once every four to six weeks is recommended to maintain results.
